How much notice do I need to give to end my rental contract. After the first year you can either continue with a rolling monthly contract or by paying up front for a year in advance. If you wish to end the rolling contract, we require 1 months notice to arrange the recovery of the building. If you pay for 12 months up front, we will also require 28 days to be able to arrange the recovery of the pod. Please note that there would not be a refund on the rental payment, should you end the contract after paying for the yearly price plan.

Can I decorate the inside?Yes you can, however we will only accept colours from the Protek Royal Interior range. More details are available here
-
Can I paint the outsideYes you can. In accordance with your maintenance schedule we require you to paint the outside every year with a clear or colour treatment from the Roya Exterior range of woodcare treatments. Click here for more details
-
Is there a maintenance schedule? We require you to treat the building annually with a wood treatment from the Royal Exterior range from Protek. More details can be found here. In addition to that, we require the gutters to be regularly cleaned, so that they are free from debris. Trees, plants and grass will need regular trimming so that the Pod maintains a clearance of 400mm from vegetation, such as hedges and tree branches. Doors may require adjustment from time to time, as changes in temperature can cause locks and latches to mis align. All doors and windows have adjustment measures built into their construction.
-
I live in a flat - can I rent a pod?Unfortunately, due to planning reasons a Pod can't be installed if you live in a flat, even if the garden is suitable.
-
Can I put a Pod in my front garden?Sorry - but due to planning constraints, we can only conform to the current planning regulations. These are... 1. The building must not cover half your garden. 2. The building must be behind the front line of the house (usually in the back garden) 3. The building cannot be used for accommodation. All pods are 2.5m high to adhere with the height restrictions
-
Can the Pod be moved if I re-locate?Yes it can. We would remove the building for you free of charge from the existing address, however a re-installation fee of £2500 is required to cover the assembly and electrical connection. If you fall into this category, it may well make sense to start again with a new building (depending on the prices at the time)
-
How long does the building last? The Pods are designed to last well over 20 years, however the maximum contract we offer is 10 years. After that the building will not be covered under guarantee so any manufacturing failures would need to be charged for. In view of this, we can either remove the Pod free of charge, or gift the Pod to you, so that the years of renting a Pod has not gone to waste.
-
Ending my renting contractWe require 1 months notice when ending a contract, to arrange a time for the building to be collected. Once the Pod has been dismantled, the wooden frame and the ground screws will also be removed. The electric cable will be disconnected from the Pod end, however a qualified electrician will be required if you wish to disconnect the cable at the house end. Any renovation or landscaping required after the building has been removed, will be the responsibility of the customer. The Pod will need to be empty prior to collection. Failure to empty the building will result in a recall charge of £1750, should the Pod not be able to be dismantled on the day. Rental contracts will end after 10 years, whereby the following options are available. 1. Return the existing building and end the contract 2. Return the existing building and start again with a new unit. 2. Accept the Pod as a gift and leave it in situ.
